New eInvoicing framework for Italy
As announced in the previous post after 1 January 2019, all domestic invoices issued by permanently established organizations in Italy must be compliant with the new e-invoicing framework.
Change of XML format
After 1 January 2019, all domestic invoices issued by permanently established organizations in Italy must be compliant with the new e-invoicing framework. This means that regardless of what invoice practices you have in place today, be they paper, EDI, e-mail or scanned, you must have migrated to the Italian FatturaPA XML format and have a solution in place that connects you to the government’s IT-platform known as the Sistema di Interscambio, or SDI for short. After this time any invoice issued in any other way than through the government IT platform will not be compliant and will for fiscal purposes be considered as simply never having been created.
When is this format available in Exact Globe?
The functionality, which supports generating domestic e-invoices in the FatturaPA XML format for Italian legislation was introduced and will become available in Service Pack 9 of Exact Globe Product Updates 416 as of 3 December, 2018.
The XML file is generated in the pre-defined location. You can pick them up and submit it via the official SDI portal, via the access point or by sending e-invoices via the Certified mailbox (PEC). E-invoices are generated automatically after the invoice is successfully printed and processed. It is also possible to regenerate e-invoice from the Invoice History. The functionality is straight-forward and is easy to use.
More information
You can find more information about the newly implemented functionality in the release notes of Exact Globe. Further stages of the implementation of the e-invoicing solution for Italian Globe customers shall be considered during 2019.
