Aziza’s Exact career started with a job at the Inside Sales department: “I quickly discovered this job wasn’t quite right for me. A bit of a bummer, as I loved the people I got to work with. Fortunately, Exact is a big company with many career opportunities. My first job at Exact might not have been a hole in one, but I preferred finding something else within the company over applying elsewhere”.
“Exact always has internal vacancies you can apply for. For me however, my career switch started because I spotted an opportunity: a colleague from Sales Operations went on maternity leave and I was able to take on her role for a while. I guess I did a good job: even after my colleague came back, I was allowed to continue working for Sales Operations. Instead of focusing on sales, I now worked on organising all sorts of events. It felt great, so I knew what my next step would be: marketing events.”
“All live events were shelved for a while. However, the moment live events were back on the menu at Exact, I decided to go all-in on marketing and applied for a job at the Marketing department. It didn’t hurt that I’d already proven myself of course. The moment I started working for Marketing I knew I’d made the right choice. I loved how Exact instantly gave me a lot of new and exciting responsabilities. After all, the best way to learn a job is to just do it.
All in all I’ve already had a very eventful career at Exact, and it’s only been a few years. Even though my first job wasn’t the perfect match, I did stay at Exact. I think that says a lot about the company. You get plenty of opportunities to learn new things. Even when Covid stood in the way of things, Exact encouraged me to not to lose focus of what I really wanted!
