Anyone who’s ever applied for a job knows: finding a job you’ve done before is much easier than finding the job you really want.
Melinda kicked off her Exact career in 2020 in the role of email marketer. “It was the job I knew how to do. It was mostly my new employer Exact that I had much to learn about.”
“As I became more familiar with Exact and its customers, I quickly learned that thinking and reasoning through the eyes of our customers was second nature to me. Instead of focusing on marketing-related topics, I couldn’t help but think of more practical matters: how to help a customer get our software up and running as quickly as possible, how to offer someone the best possible experience... issues that, just like my talents, had a home in our Customer Success department.”
“It may sound like a no-brainer: if you’re trained to be a shoemaker, a baker, or a marketer in my case, that doesn’t mean that’s all you’ll ever do. I currently have an amazing job as Senior Customer Journey Specialist at the Customer Success department at Exact. I couldn’t have imagined that’s where I’d end up when I first started here. My marketing background never stopped being helpful, but it was the freedom and encouragement I got from Exact that really enabled me to switch gears. I now have a job I’d never done before, one that’s unearthed a lot of my hidden talents. When it comes to your career at Exact, it’s your talents that are in the driver’s seat.”
