Exact for Manufacturing Ease of Use: Documents to Bills of Materials
In Exact for Manufacturing we can attach documents (files) to quotations. These documents will become attached to the shop order upon accepting the quotation. This is great for job shops. But for repetitive manufacturing we were not able to attach documents to bills of materials. A recent enhancement supports attaching documents to material lines and routing lines in the bill of materials. A shop order created from such a BOM will inherit those documents.
Attaching documents to the BOM material lines Instead of attaching documents to the bill of material version (header), we will let you add documents to the material and routing lines. In Maintenance | Materials there is a column on the right side of the screen that shows the number of attached documents: (Click to enlarge) By clicking on the (blue) number you navigate to the screen listing the attached documents. You can add new documents from here: (Click to enlarge) Attaching documents to the BOM routing lines In Maintenance | Routing there is a column on the right side of the screen that shows the number of attached documents: (Click to enlarge) By clicking on the (blue) number you navigate to the screen listing the attached documents. We cannot attach documents to the lines within the shop order, but of course we can attach documents directly to the shop order (tab Documents). These improvements are available for all versions of Exact for Manufacturing. The Ease of Use project aims to make Exact for Manufacturing easier and more efficient using the feedback of customers.
